September Glossybox 2012 Canada

September ended off with a real treat for me, my Glossybox came in and I was so shocked and happy! :) Finally an awesome full-size product in my monthly subscription! I'm also quite excited with the other products included in this month's box such as the Wella hair serum and the B. Kamins lipbalm. I can really say, it is the best box yet.

In any case, onto the 'Red Carpet Ready' Glossybox which for me included:
  • Wella Professionals Mirror Polish Shine Serum (40ml Full size)
  • B. Kamins Lip balm SPF 20 (4ml)
  • B. Kamins Maple Body Lotion (12ml)
  • Dove Cleartone (45g Full size)
and saving the best for last, a NYX Cosmetics palette: The Crimson Amulet Collection LE (Full size)
I love all those neutral colours, eM thinks this palette was impressive as well
Helena is just so gorgeous with the red hair. Still reminds me of the Red Queen.
I'm sure we all know it's an 'A+' for me this month. Loving that palette! I enjoy Tim Burton movies, and was glad to get a palette inspired by one of his movies. I watched Dark Shadows the same night I got this box :)

Bourjois + Vichy = Treats from eM

Some new products to try out this week and Tarepanda decided to make an appearance :)

Vichy ProEven BB cream [review coming up] was the reason why I had to make another trip to SDM. I tried out the BB cream earlier and really enjoyed it, and I also wanted to make use of the SDM bonus points event. It isn't until I purchased it that I realized this is one of Vichy's new fall products. There is no reviews online for it yet... So I shall be the Guinea pig!!

The Vichy bb cream claims to:
- even out skin tone
- boost radiance
- conceal dark spots
- reduce the look of wrinkles
- hydrate for 24hours
** other features include: SPF 20 broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, paraben-free and fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and available in two shades: light to medium and medium to dark

Sounds promising, hopefully I will have better luck with this BB cream, since most Asian ones are too light for me and tends to break me out.

While I was there, I also picked up the Bourjois healthy balance unifying powder in 53 Beige Clair (Light beige) because of its silky texture (it also smells so sweet~~ *drools*) This powder is suppose to be hydrating, anti-shine and last up to 10hours. I haven't actually tested this product out yet, but the reviews on it seems to be good so I am hopeful! Last minute decision and I picked up a Bourjois blush in 34 Rose D'or.

Too Faced Haul + Swatches

Last week Too Faced had their vintage sale... and I placed an order, which arrived this Monday~ My order had to crossed the border, but it arrived super fast via UPS. Can't tell you how happy I am to not have to wait a month to get this XD I sense another order coming up, if there's a sale =X Anyways, onto the haul:
Haul plus free sample of the shadow insurance
Promo code: FVINTAGE12 for 20% off :)
Aqua Bunny Cream to powder splashproof bronzer and Brightening blush in Mocha Mi Amore
Magic Wand Illuminating Foundation in Paris Light Medium
Now, onto the reason for my haul: Lip Creme~
I Want Candy and Nude Beach
Swatches with no flash from L to R: Naughty Nude, Nude Beach, Spice Spice Baby and I Want Candy
With flash

Of the four colours I bought, I find Naughty Nude most wearable. It's the perfect shade for my skintone (NW20), swatches on my lip can be found on this post. I enjoy all the colours I purchased except for Nude Beach. I think it's a little too light for me, any suggestions on how I can fix this? Please comment below and let me know!

Since I applied both new colours onto my lips, I decided to mix them together, and this was the result;
I Want Candy and Nude Beach mix :)
I love this shade! I thought that I Want Candy was a tad too bright, and Nude Beach seems to mellow it down just enough~ What do you think? Do you experiment with lip colours!?

Did you know?

Diamonds are not only gorgeous, shiny things you can wear, but it can also be used in cancer treatment.

I did not know that they had the potential to do good to one's health idea until I came across this article on my friend's blog. Her post on Real Research, Real Simple explained it quite well for me (since I don't understand some of the more complicated terms.)

Check out the article @ http://realresearchrealsimple.sunnybrook.ca/2012/06/diamonds-and-drugs-perfect-anti-cancer.html
And then there is Eggy, a simple decorative diamond... lols ^_^

Loose Button Luxe Box: September / Fall 2012

I've been peeking at other bloggers' Luxebox and was so surprised with what they received. I simply couldn't wait to try out the Eyeko eyeliner or get a deluxe version of the blinc mascara. However, when I opened my box, I was only disappointed by what was in it. Neither of the two things I wanted was in my box.... boooh! I guess that's just my luck. Anyways, here's what I got:
all the goodies~
will use it and see if I get smoother skin :P
love the cute bottle and the scent of this, too bad I won't be using the perfume, it's going straight to my collection of miniature box :)
I know this is for all skin types, but I found that most things that don't say oil-free doesn't go well with my skin.... should I risk breaking out?
I was going to give this away, but then I smelled the perfume and I really quite liked it... guess I'm keeping and enjoying it :)
Moroccanoil again? hmm... I think I have received a sample of every product from this brand. I like the brand but I'm getting tired of seeing it in my boxes every month~
Lancome Deficil Mascara in black
I've always wanted to try these nail polish strips out, but found it too pricey... I'm glad I got this in Glitz Blitz, I can see myself wearing this on NYE :)

The packaging: classy rectangular box almost the size of a shoe box, has a personalized touch on the sticker with the Loose Button logo and the letter "M" embossed on it, instead of the usual packing material, they use a white cloth thingy to wrap the samples in.
I am still debating if I want to keep this box. What do you think? for $26 does it seem worth it? Wait for the November box?

August Glossybox 2012 Canada

So happy to get my Glossybox yesterday, even though it's not August anymore XD Here's the goodies I got this month!
I was quite curious about the brand BeFine, so I went on their website to read a bit more about it. I really like the way they organize everything. The products are categorized in sections like a meal plan, with Starters, Main and Final. Some things about this brand: They are allergens-free, fragrance-free, parabens and preservatives-free. It's also vegan and their products are not tested on animals :)
I'm very excited to try out this natural brand, this set came with night cream, mask and multiple cleansers and scrub!
Glossybox teamed up with Kryolan for this Glossybox edition lipstick. I got a lovely pinkish lip colour, however, I have to say that the lipstick has a very off-putting scent.
Layla Bijou Nail polish and Sebastian Potion 9
Looking forward to trying these MU removing towelettes :)
I already put this sample in my wallet. Not looking forward to having to use it, but glad that I have it just in case I need it. Make sense? :)
et voilĂ  the pretty packaging before I took everything out
I really like the August Glossybox. :D It's definitely an A because there was such a variety of products; skincare, hair, nails, makeup and I also received a cash credit from TrendTrunk :) So, what do you think about this box?

So in love with... Too Faced La Creme Lipstick

What can I say? I'm not into nude lips, but boy am I head over heels in love with Naughty Nude! And for a neutral pink colour, I couldn't ask more from Spice Spice Baby... Ubber happy with my lippies purchase :)

Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream is a very moisturizing and creamy lipstick that glides smoothly onto your lips. I love the formulation and quality of this product. There is a faint fragrance (something sweet but hard to put a name on) that is not overwhelming. One of the things I love about it is the colour payoff, the colour you see in the tube is what you get on your lips (at least for the two I picked up.) I am so glad that I don't need to put on a lipbalm or a gloss on top of this, as it does not dry up my lips and provide a nice natural sheen. Lasting power for this lipstick is okay, there is a bit of transfer on mugs or glasses, but I don't find it too bad, approximately 3 hours.
